Is GMPP Major Guard a GMC Extended Warranty?
A GMPP Basic Guard service contract is a promise to perform (or pay for) certain repairs of services. Most consumers call this a "GMC Extended Warranty", however a GMC service contract is not a extended warranty as defined by federal law. The separate and additional cost distinguishes a service contract from a GMC warranty. A General Motors Protection Plan (GMPP) may be arranged at any time and always costs extra; a GMC factory warranty comes with a new GMC and is included in the original price of the vehicle.
General Motors Protection Plans to Meet Your Needs
Select the General Motors Basic Guard term best for your situation. Coverage is offered based on years of anticipated ownership and annual mileage driven. Deductible choices are available from $0 to $200, meaning you can minimize unanticipated out-of-pocket expenses for covered repairs.
General Motors Basic Guard can be purchased at any time during the new GMC vehicle warranty period, but the earlier you buy, the better the value. If a GMC vehicle is out-of-warranty when it is purchased, GM Basic Guard can only be obtained at the time of vehicle purchase. You can even include GM Basic Guard as part of your GMC's monthly payment.
